Asking for Prayer
We’d really appreciate prayer today for our Jack. He is really suffering from extreme mouth and throat sores from chemotherapy. His counts were high enough and he was admitted on Tuesday last week for a spinal tap and a 24 hour dose of IV chemotherapy. We were thankful to be discharged Thursday evening and Jack wasn’t feeling too bad. Unfortunately, though, he is really being hit hard now by one of the side effects of the chemotherapy-mouth sores that extend down his throat and esophagus. He is tough but it is hard to see him in pain. Thanks for praying.

Pete, I am sitting here as a father/parent and feeling the pain of a suffering child. Speechless but not prayerless, helpless but not hopeless. I want to rush in and rescue Job from the ashes but God still has 40 chapters of life yet to be written, summed up by Romans 8:28. He that the Father Highly exulted is still the Name that is above all names and the One

DeletePraying fervently for Jack. As a father my heart goes out to you Pete. I will never understand God's plans, but I have to continue to trust His sovereignty. As Jack is in the midst of his healing, may he feel God's presence in a new way and may you and all of the family feel His comfort and peace. Press on and God bless! Randy Mayfield
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Randy! It is so good to know that folks are praying for Jack around the country and even around the world! What a blessing it is to be a part of a congregation that is (as Eugene Peterson once put it) "centuries deep and continents wide."
